The Legend of Tea
According to Chinese legend, Emperor Shen Nung
was sitting under a wild tea tree one day in the year 2737 BC.
For health reasons, he drank only boiled, purified water. As he
was preparing his drink, a few tea tree leaves fell into the water
as it simmered. The resulting beverage pleased the emperor and
"tea" was discovered.
Making tea can be that simple!
To Make a Pot of Tea
Use one teaspoon of dried or two tablespoons
of fresh herb to one cup of water. Place herb(s) in a container,
such as a pan or teapot. Pour boiling water over herb(s). Quickly
cover with a tight-fitting lid. Steep for 10 to 20 minutes. Strain
and serve.
