The Plume Poppy is native to China. The juice from its leaf stems
is used to treat insect bites. However, when handling this juice,
as well as the juice from the root, it is wise to use caution as
the juice will stain your hands a deep orange color.
Plume Poppy flowers are used as an insecticide. Two compounds extracted
from the plant are used to treat cervical cancer and thyroid tumors.
The yellow sap is poisonous.
